With over three decades of international experience, Mark Lawrence Johnson works with organizations across strategy, marketing, and sales to bring clarity to complex challenges, define priorities, and translate plans into focused execution.
A core focus of his work is strategic planning—helping organizations decide what to focus on (and what not to do), align marketing and sales activities, and achieve measurable business results. This is delivered through both consulting engagements and structured workshop formats.
His approach is industry-independent and based on universal principles of prioritization, decision-making, and resource allocation—making it applicable across a wide range of sectors and business models.
Beyond strategic planning, Mark supports organizations across broader strategic, marketing, and sales challenges—from market development and positioning to implementation and execution—always with a strong focus on practical results and long-term capability building.
He has worked across both commercial and government markets, with a proven track record in establishing and growing new markets—from traditional commercial products to highly specialized global CBRN market access solutions. As one of the early industrial pioneers in the CBRN space, he contributed to European Commission policy discussions as early as 2007.
His career includes leadership roles at global organizations in pharmaceuticals (Merck & Co/MSD, Eli Lilly, Astellas) and biotechnology (Emergent BioSolutions, Securetec), enabling him to connect strategic thinking with real-world execution.
His academic background includes a BA in Business Management from the University of Maryland, an MBA from Wake Forest University, and a Doctorate in global health economics from Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris.
In parallel, Mark teaches in master’s programs at state-accredited universities in Munich, bringing practical experience into structured learning environments.
A native English speaker who also works fluently in German, he supports clients effectively in both international and German-speaking contexts.
Based in Munich, he works with clients across Europe, the USA, and Asia.
